After an audio recording of Turkish officials was released via SoundCloud, a file-sharing site, the government made quick moves to dismantle the program. Soon after, officials created a new set of laws that allows the government to block any site without court order. Moreover, the government can also access the data housed by Internet companies to start criminal investigations.
