The fact that people received letters saying they may no longer be qualified to vote because they may be dead is crazy. I would think everyone who received a letter like this would be enraged. This statement captures that in a plain and simple quote. It gets the reader’s attention by not saying why they have been enraged; it allows the reader to want to know more and read further to see who said this quote and in reaction to what. Sometimes the more simple and short a quote is, the better it is and the greater impact it has on others.

I will not deny that when I first read the quote above I found it somewhat humorous. It was shocking to learn that NC citizens received letters such as the ones described above. I felt myself get embarrassed for my own state. Who wouldn't be enraged if they received a letter from someone assuming they had died? I feel that Wake County should have the access to necessary records in order to identify the citizens that may or may not be able to vote due to these extreme circumstances. By not knowing this information, it makes not only the county but the state look unorganized and apathetic for not making more of an effort for clarifying the necessary details earlier. 7/2/2013 01:50:51 pm
